In a recent development, IRECO TRADING & PRODUCTION S.A., the supplier of the 'Clarkys' brand roasted pistachios, has initiated a food safety recall following the confirmation of Salmonella contamination[1]. The affected product, a 250g pack with batch number 7596 and a best before date of 10.03.2026, was exclusively sold at Netto supermarkets across several German states, including Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Hesse, Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt, and Bremen.

Consumers are advised not to consume this batch and to return it to their Netto store for a full refund, even without a receipt. The supplier is recalling the contaminated pistachios as a precautionary measure.

Salmonella infection can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and occasionally vomiting and fever. Infants, young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems may develop more severe symptoms from Salmonella infection.

It is important to note that this recall only applies to the 'Clarkys' brand roasted pistachios (250g) with a best before date of 10.03.2026 and batch number 7596, sold at Netto. No other batch numbers, best before dates, or other products of the 'Clarkys' brand are affected.

The affected pistachios were produced by IRECO TRADING & PRODUCTION, a company based in Luxembourg. Consumption of the affected pistachios could lead to health impairments due to Salmonella contamination.
