TU Brunswick Opens Parent-Child Office for Flexible Work-Life Balance
The Technical University of Brunswick (TU Brunswick) has opened a parent-child office 365 at the Center for Pharmaceutical Process Technology (PVZ), aiming to promote family-friendliness and flexible working forms in research and teaching. The office, initiated by Professor Iordania Constantinou, caters to children of all ages and offers various play options and resting areas.
The parent-child office is part of TU Brunswick's response to current developments in the working world, including the introduction of home office, hybrid event formats, and flexible working time models. It is equipped with baby toys, a play mat, building blocks, painting materials, puzzles, a Tripp Trapp chair, and a foldable bed. The office is located in room 422 of the PVZ and can be booked independently via the Outlook calendar.
Similar parent-child rooms exist at the main campus and other faculties, with the Family Office of TU Brunswick supporting and advising on their establishment. The Hochschule Niederrhein also has a family support room similar to the PVZ at TU Brunswick.
The parent-child office at the PVZ is a step towards creating a more family-friendly and flexible working environment at TU Brunswick. It reflects the university's commitment to adapting to current working world developments and supporting its employees with children.
