Swiggy, a leading online food delivery platform, has witnessed a surge in demand for high-protein meals. With over 2.4 million customers in the previous month, the High Protein category has seen remarkable growth. Swiggy has responded by expanding its offerings and collaborating with various partners to cater to this trend.
Swiggy has introduced several initiatives to simplify meal choices for health-conscious users. The platform has added three new subcategories: Low Cal, No Fry, and Gluten Free. The Low Cal range offers dishes under 400 kcal, No Fry highlights grilled, roasted, and steamed items, while Gluten Free focuses on millet, quinoa, and other grain alternatives.
To cater to users seeking quick, balanced options, Swiggy has launched Protein Minis. These bite-sized meals deliver 5-15 grams of protein each. The platform has also expanded its High Protein category to over 160 cities, offering more than 1 million protein-rich dishes across 1.4 lakh restaurants.
Swiggy has collaborated with various partners to validate and expand this shift. These include popular chains like McDonald's, Dr. Diet, and Carters, as well as health-focused companies like MuscleBlaze and The Green Snack Co. Deepak Maloo, Vice President at Swiggy, attributes this growth to the increasing mainstream appeal of protein-rich meals in everyday eating, with positive responses from users across India.
