Stiftung Gute-Tat Wins 'Lebendig mit Demenz' Competition for Dementia-Friendly Initiatives

The 'Lebendig mit Demenz' ideas competition has concluded, with 'Stiftung Gute-Tat' taking home the 1st prize. The competition aimed to enhance the lives of those with dementia and their families, fostering a more inclusive society. The prize-giving ceremony took place on September 24th at the Service House Arnsberg.

The winning initiative from 'Stiftung Gute-Tat' focused on practical aids to improve daily life for people with dementia. The 2nd prize went to Hanna Ewert for her theatre project 'The Little Prince', which brought together individuals with and without dementia. 'Drehmomente Arnsberg e.V.' secured the 3rd prize for their accompanied rickshaw rides, offering a sense of freedom and exploration to those with dementia.

Martin Polenz, managing director of the Arnsberg Dementia Network, stressed the significance of small, everyday improvements in the lives of people with dementia. The network hopes that the competition will contribute to a more dementia-friendly society. Other winning projects included the Caritas Day Care Hüsten's 'Kamishibai' storytelling theatre and the Sauerland Museum's group tours tailored for people with dementia.

The 'Lebendig mit Demenz' ideas competition has highlighted innovative ways to support and engage people with dementia. The winning initiatives demonstrate the power of creativity and practical support in improving quality of life and fostering understanding.
