Social Centre in Gran Alacant Resumes Operations
The Gran Alacant Social Centre, located at the Evoca Living shopping centre on Monte de Santa Pola Street, has recently reopened its doors with a renewed commitment to the community. The centre, which operates Monday to Friday from 9 am to 2 pm, is staffed with social workers, a psychologist, and an educator, with plans to gradually expand its services [1][3].
The centre aims to provide vital support to vulnerable individuals and those at risk of social exclusion. Among the new services being introduced are assistance specifically for vulnerable children, legal advice, and a focus on promoting healthy lifestyle habits [2]. One of the key goals is to prevent risks related to drug use, addictive behaviours, problematic technology, and gambling.
In line with its mission to promote equality and non-discrimination, the centre will also have a focus on gender issues. Another new service that will be introduced in the coming months is specialized psychological care for individuals with chronic illness.
It is important to note that the centre will not be introducing legal advice and support from a law graduate as a new service, as this was already part of the services offered before its reopening. Similarly, the centre will not be providing intervention services for vulnerable children and adolescents specifically focusing on those facing risk, neglect, or legal protection measures, as this was also an existing service.
The reopening of the Gran Alacant Social Centre marks a significant step towards improving community well-being. In addition, services currently offered at the Santa Pola Civic and Social Centre will be gradually transferred to Gran Alacant in the near future [4].
The centre's efforts extend beyond direct support, as it also seeks to foster a sense of community and encourage healthy lifestyle habits. By providing a safe and supportive environment, the Gran Alacant Social Centre is making a real difference in the lives of those it serves.
