Schools shuttered due to COVID-19 outbreak

A new initiative has been launched in Germany to provide support to schools and students affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative aims to help 106 schools that are currently closed and 4,074 schools that are partially closed, representing 14% of all schools in the country.

The initiative is designed to offer assistance to the 13,101 teaching staff who are affected by quarantine measures, including the 3,798 teaching staff who are currently infected with COVID-19. Moreover, it aims to support the 198,156 students who are in quarantine and the 18,298 students who are currently infected with the virus.

The support will be facilitated through email communication, allowing schools to share resources and best practices in managing their operations during these challenging times. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on the education system.

It's important to note that there is no publicly available detailed list of the names of the 106 schools that were closed due to the pandemic. However, specific school closure information was reported regionally, such as several schools in Munich being closed after confirmed cases.

The initiative is expected to promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing among schools facing similar challenges, with the ultimate goal of ensuring the continuity of education and the well-being of all students and teaching staff. This national effort involves schools across the country and is a significant step towards overcoming the challenges posed by the pandemic.
