Refreshing Brew Blend: Raspberry Shandy

Hey There!

This delightful drink we were referring to, it's more like a European version of a shandy, but with a twist - let's call it a Raspberry Shandy. Instead of using bitter beer and soda, we're teaming up a smooth wheat beer with low hop bitterness and something fruity and refreshing - a raspberry lambic!

What's Needed: Grab a wheat beer with a moderate hop bite, such as Erdinger Hefe-Weizen, and a raspberry lambic, we adore Timmermans Framboise Lambicus.

This recipe has made its mark in our special series, Cheers to Beer Refreshers!

  • Servings: Enough for 1 drink
  • Difficulty: A breeze!
  • Prep Time: Less than 5 minutes

Ingredients (2)

  • 1 bottle chilled wheat beer
  • 1 bottle chilled raspberry lambic

Instructions

  1. Fill a chilled pilsner glass 3/4 full with the wheat beer (for a subtle fruit flavor, go halfway). Add the raspberry lambic to top it off.

Insights: For a more refined Raspberry Shandy using Erdinger Hefe-Weizen and Timmermans Framboise Lambicus, consider these tips:

Ingredients:

  • Erdinger Hefe-Weizen (Wheat Beer)
  • Timmermans Framboise Lambicus (Raspberry Lambic Beer)
  • Ice (optional)
  • Fresh raspberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preparations: Chill both Erdinger Hefe-Weizen and Timmermans Framboise Lambicus before serving.
  2. Combining the Beers:
  3. Split the glass between the two beers. For a stronger raspberry flavor, opt for more Timmermans Framboise Lambicus. Start with adding half the glass of Erdinger Hefe-Weizen.
  4. Pour the raspberry lambic on top.
  5. Chill (Optional): Add ice if you prefer a cold and refreshing beverage, but remember ice may slightly dilute the flavor.
  6. Garnish (Optional): If desired, add a touch of fresh raspberries for presentation.
  7. Serve: Once mixed, serve promptly. The balance of wheat beer and raspberry lambic creates a sweet, tangy, and invigorating drink, perfect for hot weather or special events.

Notes: The Erdinger Hefe-Weizen adds a subtle cloudy body and hints of banana and clove, while the Timmermans Framboise Lambicus imparts a vibrant raspberry flavor. Customize the balance to match your taste preference. Enjoy!
