In the Tomsk Region of Russia, the flu vaccination campaign is well underway, with a focus on reaching a goal of 60% vaccination coverage for the region's residents. As of September 18, 47,367 people have already been vaccinated.

The vaccine of choice for children in the region is Ultrix Quadri, while adults are vaccinated with domestic preparations 'Sovigrip' and 'Flu-M'. The vaccination process is straightforward: upon arrival at the clinic, a passport or OMS policy is required. Before vaccination, a doctor or nurse will conduct an examination to ensure suitability.

During the past flu season, 2,112 people were infected, with only 145 of them being vaccinated, representing a low vaccination rate of 6.8%. This underscores the importance of the current vaccination drive.

The optimal time for flu vaccination in the Tomsk Region is from September to November. Specialists at the Center for Medical and Pharmaceutical Information are available to answer any questions about vaccination at specific phone numbers.

Recently, a twofold increase in acute respiratory infections (ARI) among schoolchildren was reported in the Tomsk Region, with a total of 9,500 cases on September 17. However, it's worth noting that only a few cases of influenza have been recorded in the region.

For groups of 20 or more, mobile vaccination is available. To request this service, residents should call the regional health department's hotline. It's important to note that no severe cases have been reported among the vaccinated patients.

The antibodies produced after vaccination usually last for 6-12 months, offering protection against the flu during this period. Due to the variability of viruses, the composition of vaccines changes annually. More supplies of flu vaccine are expected to arrive in the Tomsk Region by November.

As of the beginning of 2025, 35,423 adults and 11,944 children in the Tomsk Region have been vaccinated against the flu. It takes about three weeks for immunity to form after flu vaccination, providing a timely protection for the upcoming flu season.

All residents of Tomsk Region can get vaccinated at their local clinic. It's crucial for everyone to take steps to protect themselves and others from the flu, especially considering the ongoing pandemic. Stay safe and get vaccinated!
