Ministry provides convenient online service for women impacted by Article 8 nationality cancellation

In a significant move to streamline the process for women affected by Article 8, the Ministry of Interior has introduced an online service through the government's unified app, Sahel. This innovative platform allows affected individuals to update their citizenship status or provide proof of rectification without the need for in-person visits to immigration authorities.

To utilise this service, users need to access the Sahel app, available on platforms such as the Apple App Store. Once logged in, they should navigate to the Ministry of Interior's services within the app. From there, users must choose "Article 8 Affairs Services" and select "Submitting Status Amendment and Proof of Seriousness."

Women who have obtained a passport from their original country should choose the "modify status" option and upload a copy of the passport. Those who haven't obtained a passport yet should select "prove seriousness" and upload any official documents that demonstrate they are working on it and the issue is in the processing stages.

After submitting the application, users can track the status directly through the Sahel app. The app provides a platform for users to track the status of their application and communicate with the Article 8 Affairs Office.

The Article 8 Affairs Office operates from Sunday to Thursday, 8 am to 2:30 pm, and users can contact them through the communication service in the Sahel app or by phone during these hours. The phone numbers for the Article 8 Affairs Office are provided within the Sahel app.

This new service is specifically designed for women whose citizenship was revoked under Article 8. It offers a convenient and efficient way for affected women to update their information and maintain their civil documentation relevant to their citizenship status.

For detailed steps on document requirements or submissions related to citizenship revocation cases under Article 8, checking the official government guidelines or contacting support within the Sahel app is advisable. This service, reported by Al-Rai daily, is another example of the government's commitment to digital transformation and improving access to essential services.
