MGH Receives $100M Gift for New Heart Care Tower
Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) has received a generous $100 million gift from the New Balance Foundation. The donation will fund the construction of the West Tower of the Phillip and Susan Ragon Building, which will serve as the anchor for Mass General Brigham's heart and vascular care. The new facility will be named the New Balance Foundation Tower.
The $100 million donation was made by Phillip and Susan Ragon, founders of the New Balance Foundation. The West Tower, once completed, will expand and enhance the hospital's cardiovascular services. It will house state-of-the-art facilities, including operating rooms, intensive care units, and outpatient clinics. The new building is set to strengthen MGH's position as a leading provider of heart and vascular care.
The New Balance Foundation Tower, made possible by the Ragon's donation, is expected to open its doors in 2025. It will not only advance cardiovascular medicine but also create new jobs and stimulate local economic growth.
