In the heart of Russia's Kurgan region, a significant shift is underway as young professionals are drawn to the area, seeking opportunities for growth and development. The Kurgan Regional Perinatal Center, in particular, has become a beacon for young specialists, including four obstetrician-gynecologists: Vladislav Surmava, Angelina Surmava, Ilya Lekarev, and Yulia Klementyeva.

Vladislav and Angelina Surmava, a married couple, hail from Kurgan and Omsk respectively, while Ilya Lekarev graduated from the Ural State Medical University with a degree in 'General Medicine' and completed his residency in 'Obstetrics and Gynecology' there. Yulia Klementyeva, who interned at the Kurgan Perinatal Center during her university studies, also chose to continue her professional journey at the center.

The young specialists were attracted by the center's solid foundation, decent working conditions, and opportunities for professional growth, including with complex patients. This influx of talent is not limited to the Perinatal Center, as it also occurred in other fields in the Kurgan region.

The federal 'Village Culture Worker' program plays a crucial role in this trend. This initiative offers financial support to attract and retain young professionals in rural and small towns, contributing to the region's overall development. In 2025, nine university graduates arrived in Kurgan region municipalities as teachers, artists, and librarians under this program.

The goal of the 'Village Culture Worker' program is to help renew the professional teams in the Kurgan region across various sectors, not just the Perinatal Center. By supporting and retaining young professionals, the program aims to foster a vibrant, dynamic community that can benefit various sectors in the region.

However, it's worth noting that there are no specific publicly available search results detailing the background or current status of a 'Village Culture Worker' program in the Kurgan region. The available information mostly relates to cultural and language programs in Tajikistan and Russia without direct reference to such a program in Kurgan.

Despite this, the broader trend of attracting young professionals to the Kurgan region is clear. The impact of this trend extends beyond the medical field, offering a promising future for the region's development.
