Idaho law requires children aged 14 and under to wear a properly fitted, Coast Guard-approved life jacket when aboard a boat 19 feet or less in length while the boat is underway or under power. This law applies to all types of boats, including powerboats, sailboats, paddlecraft, and personal watercrafts like jet skis. Life jackets must be readily accessible and not stored out of reach.
The post sparked concern for the child's safety on social media on Friday. Kardashian, who is 46, later addressed the backlash, acknowledging the potential risks and expressing gratitude for the reminders about the importance of life jackets.
This incident is not the first time Kardashian's children have been on a boat without a life jacket. In a previous instance, her other children, sons Mason, 15, and Reign, 10, and daughter Penelope, 13, were also on a boat without the necessary safety gear.
However, Kardashian has since taken steps to ensure her son's safety. She shared a photo of a child's life jacket on her story, indicating that she had purchased one for Rocky. Kardashian stated that she hopes the attention drawn to the issue will help other mothers be aware of the dangers of boating without a life jacket.
