Increased Constraints Imposed Due to COVID-19 Escalation in SKA (Square Kilometer Array)

South Kazakhstan's Yellow Zone Restrictions Revisited

Hey there! It's time to talk about the recent changes happening in South Kazakhstan. Starting May 29, the region is reintroducing some quarantine restrictions due to a spike in COVID-19 cases.

Aset Zhumatayev, the region's chief sanitary doctor, signed the relevant decree.

Here's what you need to know about the new restrictions:

  • Billiard halls, bowling alleys, indoor children's playgrounds and attractions, trampoline parks, banquet halls, computer clubs, and water parks will be closed. Funerals are now off-limits.
  • Collective events in closed religious facilities are forbidden. Outdoor events at mosques, Orthodox churches, and other religious facilities can continue, but with mask and social distancing rules enforced, keeping a minimum of four meters between individuals.
  • Cultural facilities are limited to individual and group rehearsals with no more than 30 people.
  • Only emergency groups will operate in kindergartens, with no more than 25 children per group. The operation of children's correctional cabinets, educational centers, and public baths and saunas (except those with a common hall without individual cabins) will be allowed with no more than 15 people per group, by prior appointment.
  • Sports events will be held with no more than 15% capacity. The operation of theaters, cinemas, and concert halls is possible with no more than 20% of the seating capacity. The operating hours of catering facilities will be reduced to 00:00.
  • Businesses implementing the Ashyq project can operate under "green zone" restrictions, with at least 50% of employees working remotely.
  • If vaccination is ongoing, operations will not be subject to occupancy requirements. Employees who have been fully vaccinated and recovered from COVID-19 within the last six months can work on-site.

According to the latest information available, South Kazakhstan is now in the "yellow" zone, signaling moderate COVID-19 risk. While it's not a severe lockdown situation, caution is still advised, and enhanced sanitary and preventive measures should be followed.

It's worth noting that Kazakhstan has been relaxing many COVID-19 related restrictions, including lifting land border restrictions with neighboring countries. This may indicate an overall improvement in the pandemic situation nationally.

Keep in mind that for precise, up-to-date local restrictions such as mask mandates, gathering limits, or business operation rules in South Kazakhstan, it's a good idea to consult official Kazakhstan government or public health sources. They would have the most accurate and up-to-date information for you!

Stay safe out there, folks!

In the revised quarantine restrictions for South Kazakhstan, health-and-wellness facilities like water parks and trampoline parks have been temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 situation. On the other hand, science-based precautions such as mask-wearing and social distancing are still mandatory for outdoor religious events and cultural facility visits in the region.

Restrictions are tied to the shift of SCS into the 'yellow' zone transition.
