Article Revision:

The Nature Protection Prosecutor's Office in Omsk is conducting an inspection on the Omsk Agricultural Research Center.

In a joint operation with the regional division of Rosachestvo (Russian Federal Service for Agricultural and Food Quality and Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance), the Omsk inter-district nature protection prosecutor's office has initiated a review of the Omsk Agricultural Research Center to ensure compliance with seed legislation for agricultural crops. Maxim Chekusov heads the center, who previously served as the Minister of Agriculture in Omsk.

In the course of the inspection, the center's seed storage and distribution practices will be evaluated, test protocols for seed samples will be analyzed, and contracts with partners, including those for selling seeds to countries within the CIS, will be examined, according to an official statement.

Prosecutors added that samples of agricultural crops have already been taken from storage facilities to check their quality.

Pending any findings, decisions regarding proactive measures by the prosecutor's office will be made, they said.
