Imprisonment of Six Years for a Pedophilic School Bus Driver
A 50-something-year-old bus driver who exploited a teenage girl under the guise of a romantic relationship, was sentenced to six grueling years behind bars for his reprehensible actions. In his ruling, Judge Dannie Leblanc denounced such heinous acts committed by adults against adolescents.
According to Mayssa Ferah our site, the judge slammed, "Using impressionable teens to cater to one's perverted desires is a repugnant act." The verdict was passed at the Longueuil courthouse on Tuesday.
Pierre Lafontaine, a resident of Saint-Zénon, pleaded guilty to charges such as sexual exploitation, sexual contact with a minor, inciting sexual contact, producing juvenile pornography, and luring. These offensive acts occurred between 2009 and 2012.
The unfortunate victim fell prey to Pierre Lafontaine since she was 15 and continued to suffer until she turned 18. He manipulated her to fulfill his vile sexual fantasies, even engaging in the most degrading acts.
What's more deplorable was that the man befriended the girl when she was just 12. At the time, he was her bus driver. Judge Leblanc described her as considering him a friend and confidant.
The so-called "romantic relationship" continued until the victim turned 21 years old. However, the judge noted that the aggressor's interest waned as the victim grew older.
Defense attorney Jean-François Ouellet argued for a three-year prison sentence, while the Crown prosecutor, Bruno Des Lauriers, demanded seven years.
A sordid past
While testifying at the court, Pierre Lafontaine claimed that he was raped by his brother, Luc Lafontaine, from the age of 9. He alleges that the sexual assaults continued until he was an adult and married.
His brother was killed in 2022 in Longueuil. When the murderer pleaded guilty, the case revealed that he blamed Luc Lafontaine for sexually assaulting one of his friends, although the deceased was never charged with sexual offenses.
Interestingly, Pierre Lafontaine claimed he was also sexually assaulted by his high school teacher when he was 15. The judge acknowledged this troubling past but pointed out that Pierre Lafontaine had no prior criminal record before being charged for this case.
- Despite his troubled past, which included alleged sexual assaults by his brother and teacher, Pierre Lafontaine was still held accountable for his actions in exploiting a teenage girl.
- The general news recently brought forth details of Pierre Lafontaine's crimes, ranging from sexual exploitation to producing juvenile pornography, all committed under the guise of a romantic relationship with a teenage girl.
- In the realm of health-and-wellness and sexual-health, it's important to address the long-term effects on the victim, who suffered at the hands of a bus driver she once trusted, underscoring the need for national discussion and education on such matters.
