HelloFresh Recalls Meal Kits Over Listeria Risk

HelloFresh has issued a recall for specific factor meals due to potential Listeria contamination. Customers who received the affected products between September 6 and October 9, 2025, are advised to discard them immediately.

The recalled factor meals include 'Cheesy Pulled Pork Pepper Pasta' and 'Unstuffed Peppers with Ground Turkey', sold between February 8 and February 25, 2023. The contamination stems from spinach sourced from FreshRealm, which is also used in other ready-made pasta products stocked by retailers like Albertson's, Trader Joe's, and Walmart.

Consuming affected factor meals may cause listeriosis, with symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, headache, and gastrointestinal issues. Pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals are particularly at risk for severe illness. While no illnesses have been linked to the HelloFresh factor meals, pasta meals produced with FreshRealm spinach have been linked to four deaths and 20 illnesses.

HelloFresh is notifying affected customers and reimbursing them for the recalled factor meals. The recall is expanding, and more affected products may be identified. The USDA urges consumers to discard or return the affected factor meals if they have them. Customers with questions can contact HelloFresh's customer care line.
