Guiding steps to embark on a healthcare career, as per a pharmacist

A healthy lifestyle is a journey that begins with small steps. It's about breaking down its main components and making gradual changes to our daily habits. This week, the Ministry of Health has dedicated its focus to quitting addictions, particularly to psychoactive substances.

Dr. Anna Nogovitsyna, a psychiatrist at the Yakutsk Republican Narcological Dispensary, has prepared a list of tips for adopting a healthy lifestyle. She emphasizes the importance of correct food behavior, recommending the exclusion of fast food, sodas, sugar, and semi-finished products from our diet. Instead, we should aim to add more vegetables, fruits, and greens to our daily ration, following the "Healthy Plate" rule: 1/2 - vegetables, fruits, 1/4 - protein food, 1/4 - complex carbohydrates.

Monitoring our emotional state is also crucial. Dr. Nogovitsyna advises reducing stress levels as much as possible, improving sleep hygiene, and finding time to rest. She encourages us to enjoy a cup of our favorite coffee, spend time with family, go for a walk, and take naps, among other things, to help manage stress and improve emotional well-being.

Physical activity plays a significant role in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Nogovitsyna suggests starting with morning exercises, replacing elevator rides with stair climbing, and opting for walks instead of public transport. She advises making changes gradually to avoid intense workouts if you haven't exercised before.

Preventing dependency is easier than fighting its consequences. Dr. Nogovitsyna stresses the importance of abstinence from psychoactive substances (PAs). She recommends quitting the use of PAs as early as possible, seeking help from specialists at the Yakutsk Republican Narcological Dispensary for programs to quit smoking, treat alcohol and drug dependency, and psychological support at this stage.

The Yakutsk Republican Narcological Dispensary offers specialized support such as medical detoxification, psychological counseling, rehabilitation programs, and relapse prevention services for individuals seeking to overcome alcohol, nicotine, and other psychoactive substance dependencies.

Remember, drastic changes should be avoided to prevent relapses. The journey to a healthy lifestyle is a marathon, not a sprint. Start today, gradually replacing harmful habits with new healthy ones.

This week, the Yakutsk Republican Psychoneurological Dispensary, along with the Ministry of Health, is dedicated to raising awareness and providing resources for quitting addictions to psychoactive substances. Let's take this opportunity to commit to a healthier lifestyle and seek the support we need to make positive changes.
