Former Borussia Dortmund player Rosicky was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit due to heart issues.

Tomáš Rosický, a former Bundesliga player and current sporting director of Sparta Prague, was admitted to an intensive care unit last week due to heart problems. The club made this announcement on Monday, revealing that Rosický had been admitted on Tuesday and had since been discharged into home care. Fortunate for the 44-year-old, no surgery was required, yet specific details regarding his condition have remained undisclosed.

In a club statement, Rosický acknowledged the severity of the situation and expressed his concern about his health. He noted that unhealthy habits, lack of exercise, and family predispositions were likely contributing factors. However, he reported optimistically that he is expected to make a full recovery. During his recovery, Rosický will be unable to perform the demanding duties of a sporting director.

In his absence, Tomáš Sivok has been appointed as the interim sporting director at Sparta Prague. Rosický's notable history with German football includes a stint with Borussia Dortmund from 2001 to 2006, winning the German championship in 2002 and reaching the UEFA Cup final in the same year. While this background links him to Borussia Dortmund, no ongoing role was stated.

Rosický expressed confidence in the team's continued success despite his temporary absence. He emphasized that Sparta Prague has a clear vision, strategy, and structured processes in place which will be maintained by his colleagues. Rosický's return to full duties is still forthcoming, but an exact timeline was not provided.

Despite the health challenges related to his medical conditions, Tomáš Rosický remains optimistic about his recovery, maintaining that his focus will be on health and wellness during this time. While sports activities may not be an immediate priority, he remains interested in keeping updated with the latest advancements in science, especially in the field of sports medicine.
