"I'm still in agony," the 51-year-old revealed in his podcast "Ulle & Rick" alongside former cyclist Rick Zabel. "I wanted to do one more lap, just loosen up my legs. I was cruising along the main road near my house when a driver came barreling at me, missed the turn, didn't spot me, and plowed into me head-on on the left side," Ullrich narrated.
Wednesday found Ullrich still hospitalized in Freiburg. "Managing the pain isn't easy," he shared. "But I only have one drain left. I had four the day before," he added. In spite of his struggles, he announced his intention to attend the "Jan Ullrich Cycling Festival" this weekend in Bad Dürrheim – albeit not on a bike.
