"City Initiative for 'Healthy Schools' Launched in Partnership: Push Towards Healthy Learning Environments in the Cubed Area"
The city of Halle (Saale) is set to launch an innovative project aimed at promoting school health, titled "Movement Heroes". The project, which will commence on August 15, 2025, from 10 to 12 am on the Cube Lawn, is a collaborative effort between the city and various partners.
The "Movement Heroes" project focuses on movement, nutrition, and relaxation, with an interactive offer at the "Right to Health" station of the "Children's Rights Learning Path". SV Halle e.V., a local organisation with expertise in sports pedagogy, is responsible for designing age-appropriate movement offers for the project.
The project's primary objectives include promoting health-conscious behaviour, reducing excessive screen time, and facilitating access to organised sports. It aims to permanently integrate movement into daily school life, enhance children's physical and mental health, and improve social skills and learning achievements.
Three schools will be participating in the project: Free Primary School "Friedemann Bach Halle", Primary School "Ulrich von Hutten", and Special School "Christian-Gotthilf-Salzmann". The municipal health department will oversee and evaluate the project's progress.
The public kick-off event is open to children from nearby kindergartens, families, and all interested citizens. The event will feature interactive stations, such as a movement course, a health quiz and memory game, making fruit skewers, and a "Relaxation Island" with stories and fantasy journeys for children.
The project is also supported by several organisations, including the accident insurance company of Saxony-Anhalt, the consumer center of Saxony-Anhalt e.V., USV Halle e.V., GP Günter Papenburg AG, and dm-drugstore. Teachers are being trained as part of the project, and parents are actively involved through workshops and family afternoons.
For more detailed information about the project's modules, participating schools, and partnerships, we recommend checking official local education or cultural program websites in Halle or contacting the city’s youth or cultural affairs office directly.
