Thrilling Triplet Birth at Almaty City Perinatal Center
A remarkable event unfolded at the Almaty City Perinatal Center, as a 36-year-old woman, Elmira Rysmanova, gave birth to triplets without the aid of assisted reproductive technologies, according to Liter.kz.
Rysmanova and her husband, Nurmakhan Galiyev, are now proud parents to a brood of ten. The couple welcomed their newest additions on a recent day at the perinatal center, where Rysmanova was admitted at 31 weeks, carrying triplets.
The high-risk pregnancy necessitated an emergency C-section due to the potential risks of premature labor. The operation was executed successfully, thanks to the expertise of skilled medical professionals.
The three girls emerged at 14:07, 14:08, and 14:09, each weighing between 1493 to 1748 grams and measuring 40 cm tall. They were named Fatiima, Zuhra, and Aisha.
The newborns were immediately transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit, where they received necessary medical care. At present, they are under close medical supervision, steadily growing stronger each day.
Earlier in her family history, Rysmanova has given birth to two sets of twins in 2019 and 2022, making this her third multiple birth.
Background
While the occurrence of natural triplet births is generally rare, the likelihood increases slightly with advanced maternal age due to hormonal changes. However, it remains significantly less common than assisted triplet births, which are more frequently achieved through fertility treatments such as IVF. In the U.S., the twin birth rate has significantly increased, with a large portion attributed to the use of assisted reproductive technologies.
