"Child Hospice Event Held"
The Bergisches Family Bereavement Center, a hub of support for grieving individuals, is collaborating with Fight Club Wuppertal to offer a unique event titled "Together, we'll box our way through life." This information-packed event is scheduled for Sunday, February 9th, and admission is free.
The event takes place at the boxing club located at Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 149 in Wuppertal. It aims to provide a central contact point for those seeking help and support in dealing with the emotional challenges of life.
The main attraction of the event is a free boxing workshop for both children and adults. Children's training sessions will be led by the professionals of Fight Club, divided into two age groups (8 years old and above). For children who are too young to participate in the boxing workshop, entertainment and snacks will be provided.
In addition to the boxing workshops, the event will include information stands about family bereavement work and children's hospice care. The goal of these events is not only to help break the taboo surrounding the topic but also to raise awareness for families with a child with a life-shortening illness.
The "green ribbon" is a symbol of support for families, initiatives, and children’s hospices during the Day of Children’s Hospice Care, which is celebrated annually on February 10th. This day serves both to honor families coping with terminal or life-limiting illnesses in children and to draw public attention to the importance of ambulatory and inpatient children’s hospice care.
The Bergisches Family Bereavement Center, established in June 2023, is a network of existing bereavement services in the Bergisches Land region. They offer help to children, young people, parents, grandparents, school classes, kindergartens, youth groups, employers, and more.
For those interested in learning more about Wuppertal’s exact program or similar events, contacting local hospice organizations or municipal event calendars in Wuppertal may provide the most current information. Solidarity with affected families and supporters is the focus on the Day of Children's Hospice Care.
