Bangladesh's Dengue Death Toll Hits 200 as Cases Surge
Bangladesh's dengue crisis continues, with two more deaths reported in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of news to 200 this year. The latest deaths were confirmed in Dhaka South City Corporation.
The number of dengue cases is also rising. In September alone, 76 deaths and 15,866 cases were reported. In the last day, 60 new cases were reported in Chattogram Division outside the city corporation. Dhaka North City Corporation saw 78 new cases, while Dhaka South City Corporation reported 64. Other divisions also saw increases: Rangpur Division had 22 new cases, Barishal Division 138, and Dhaka Division 100.
Additionally, 490 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, bringing the total number of cases this year to 47,832.
The dengue outbreak in Bangladesh remains severe, with a significant increase in cases and news. Authorities must take urgent action to control the spread of the disease and prevent further fatalities.
